COSTUMED CHARACTERS

We’re looking for personable, animated people with fun, outgoing personalities to perform as Sesame Street characters, as well as our signature seasonal characters like Frosty and penguins. Performing experience not necessary, but you should be able to follow simple dance steps and wear a full-body character costume. Selected individuals will perform regularly as a costumed character in appearances, photo opportunities, and park shows. Applicants must also be able to perform the duties of a character escort, interact with guests and maintain safety standards. You must be able to stand for long periods of time; lift, push and pull 45 lbs., be between 4'10" and 6'3”, and be able to perform in extreme temperatures. HOW TO AUDITION:

1. APPLY

Click here to fill out an online Costume Character application PRIOR to attending an audition or sending in materials. Please note that you must apply online and agree to the listed terms prior to accepting a position.

2. PREPARE

You will be taught a brief dance combination at the audition that will include characterization and improvisation exercises. Please wear appropriate dance or workout clothing and footwear. Please do not wear jeans.

3. AUDITION

Please make plans to attend one of our monthly Williamsburg auditions or audition tour locations. Click here for a list of upcoming audition dates. Applicants must be at least 15 years old to audition and 16 years old to begin work.
